Risk Management and the Strengthened Standards
Do you understand what a ‘risk-based approach’ means in Home Care?
How are you preparing your team for the changes under the new Aged Care Act and Support at Home Program?
What strategies do you have in place to identify and manage risks related to compliance and service delivery?
The Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission has clearly sent a message to providers about how a risk-based approach will be taken when reviewing and assessing compliance for home care providers.
Navigating the complexities of the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards and the Support at Home Program requires a proactive, risk-based approach to compliance and quality improvement. Aged care providers need to manage risks effectively, prepare for audits, and enhance service delivery while adapting to these changes come 1 July 2025. This is particularly important in the area of direct care provision.
By focusing on participant-centred care, organisations can foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement. This approach equips providers with the confidence and knowledge needed to meet regulatory requirements and drive positive change within their operations.
🔥 Overview
This workshop is designed to support aged care providers in adopting a risk-based approach to understanding and implementing the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards. With the introduction of the new Aged Care Act and the evolving Support at Home Program, compliance requirements are more critical than ever.
Attendees will explore the key aspects of the Strengthened Standards, gaining a clear understanding of their objectives and implications for service delivery. The workshop will focus on identifying potential risks across operational and care domains and exploring how to manage these risks proactively to ensure compliance and safeguard the quality of care. In addition, it will provide attendees with the tools and resources to monitor performance effectively, improve continuous quality management, and address gaps in service delivery.
Practical examples of what this means for care managers and management will be provided along with action lists to assist in the workplace.
