Personal Care to Clinical Care: What Providers need to know?
Under Support at Home, providers are already seeing a shift in how personal care is being allocated, and many are receiving less personal care. This dip is prompting real questions for providers about how to respond, how to support participants, and what comes next.
From October 2026, personal care moves into the clinical care category. This reclassification changes how personal care is framed, what it requires of providers in terms of workforce and delivery, and how it needs to be communicated to participants and their families.
The window between now and October is not a waiting period.
Providers who use the time between now and October well will be the ones who arrive at the clinical care reclassification ready, with their workforce prepared, participants informed, and their practice grounded in what the new category requires.
This workshop is where that preparation begins.
🔥 Overview
Providers are already experiencing the impact of Support at Home on personal care where allocations are shifting, At the same time, a significant change is on the horizon. From October 2026, personal care moves into the clinical care category, bringing with it new requirements and a funding structure that removes the individual client contribution.

Regarding online training, we know that staring into the “virtual classroom” can sometimes miss those moments that face-to-face events deliver. So, we are mixing things up. In a time of transformation in the sector, we want to ensure that you are supported now more than ever. We will focus even more on interactive, immersive training sessions (think break-out rooms, cameras on (yes, scary), opportunities to network, and maintaining the LPA way of tangible tools and resources).
