Online Training & Tailored Workshops

Lorraine Poulos Home Care Services Online Training And Tailored Workshops

LPA has an excellent reputation for providing training that produces results.

We have been educating the Aged Care sector for over 15 years to ensure they are skilled in their roles and confident with stakeholders while remaining within their scope of practice.

Our experienced clinicians know how to ‘demystify’ concepts and empower all workforce members to be confident in their roles.

At LPA, we can tailor training specific to your organisational and staffing needs. These can be delivered in half or full day formats either in person or online. Workshops are delivered by the subject matter expert and facilitate an interactive learning environment, conducive to meeting your learning requirements.

The LPA Difference

Whether it’s a public event or tailored on-site session, at LPA we stand by our value of not only providing comprehensive training, but one that is accompanied by tools and resources that give you practical applications to take back to implement in your role, with teams and wider organisation.

“LPA training equips providers with an essential toolkit of skills and knowledge needed to provide compassionate support to our older population. Our workshops go beyond theory, emphasising practical application by providing tangible outcomes, comprehensive resources, and a robust toolkit- we empower providers to make a meaningful difference.”

David Fleming Senior Consultant LPA

In Person Training

On-site training is tailored to meet the specific needs and challenges of clients in the aged care sector. These on-site training programs provide a unique advantage by fostering team unity, encouraging hands-on learning, all the while ensuring immediate application of acquired knowledge.

Online Training

It can sometimes be hard to feel engaged when it comes to online training.

With LPA training, our consultants ensure that each session is dynamic and includes practical resources and tools. It is important to us, that these sessions incorporate tangible outcomes that you can apply to your role from when you “log off”.

Online training enables customised sessions to be delivered to the needs of the organisation, or alternatively enable a prior topic that we have covered to be delivered in a smaller group.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

The key difference between tailored training and public training workshops is the level of customisation and focus on your organisation’s specific context.

Tailored training is designed specifically for your organisation and delivered at an organisation level (online or face to face). Content is customised to reflect your operating model, workforce roles, risk profile, policies and procedures, and the challenges your teams are facing.

Public training workshops, on the other hand, are open sessions delivered on set topics and dates. They follow a structured program designed for individuals or small groups from different organisations and focus on building general knowledge and capability across the sector.

Training is delivered by senior LPA consultants who bring deep, hands-on experience from across the aged care and home care sector. This includes experienced clinicians, case managers, governance and quality leaders, and former senior executives who have worked directly in service delivery, management, and regulatory environments.

Because LPA’s trainers work daily with providers on compliance, governance, and complex care issues, training is grounded in current sector realities, reflects real examples and challenges, and is aligned to contemporary regulatory expectations, including Support at Home and the new Aged Care Act. This ensures participants leave with clear, applicable learning that can be confidently applied in their roles.

About LPA

LPA delivers training in a range of formats to ensure learning is accessible, engaging, and practical, regardless of location or team structure.

Training can be delivered as:

  • Online (live, interactive sessions) – Facilitated in real time, allowing participants to ask questions, work through scenarios, and engage in discussion without the need to travel. This option works well for geographically dispersed teams and regional or remote providers.

  • Onsite (in-person) – Delivered face-to-face at your organisation, supporting deeper engagement, team discussion, and context-specific application. Onsite sessions are particularly effective for whole-of-team training, leadership workshops, or facilitated working sessions.

This flexible approach allows Lorraine Poulos and Associates (LPA) to support metropolitan, regional, rural, and remote teams across Australia, while tailoring delivery to workforce availability, operational demands, and learning objectives.

LPA training is designed to go beyond generic education and focus on what works in practice for providers operating in a complex regulatory environment.

What sets LPA’s training apart includes:

  • Delivered by senior sector experts
Training is delivered by experienced clinicians, case managers, governance and quality leaders, and former executives who understand the realities of service delivery, not just theory.

  • Strong clinical oversight
A key differentiator for LPA is having a dedicated Head of Clinical Care Services, which allows us to deliver clinical workshops with depth, credibility, and real-world insight. With senior clinical oversight from Steve Neal, our clinical workshops are grounded in contemporary practice, informed by frontline realities, and aligned to current regulatory expectations. This ensures training goes beyond theory, providing participants with practical guidance, sound clinical judgement, and defensible approaches to managing risk, complexity, and care quality in everyday practice.

  • Practical, real-world focus
LPA training translates legislation, standards, and policy into clear, practical guidance that staff can apply immediately in day-to-day decision-making.

  • Aligned to current reform
Content is continuously updated to reflect Support at Home, the new Aged Care Act, and the strengthened Quality Standards, helping teams stay current as expectations evolve.

  • Integrated with consulting support
Training is often delivered alongside LPA’s consulting and ongoing support work, meaning learning is reinforced by system uplift, policy alignment, and implementation support.

  • Respect for professional judgement
Rather than prescribing rigid rules, LPA training supports staff to develop sound professional judgement, supported by governance and clinical frameworks.

The result is training that builds confidence, capability, and consistency not just compliance.
